Shawano is a city in Shawano County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,305 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Shawano County.
Shawano is located at 44°46′36″N 88°36′7″W (44.776612, -88.602054). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.67 square miles (17.28 km²), of which, 6.57 square miles (17.02 km²) is land and 0.10 square miles (0.26 km²) is water.
As of the census of 2010, there were 9,305 people, 3,960 households, and 2,299 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,416.3 inhabitants per square mile (546.8/km²). There were 4,309 housing units at an average density of 655.9 per square mile (253.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 82.4% White, 0.7% African American, 12.3% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.2% from other races, and 2.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.1% of the population.
